God bless the souls of those who perished at the hands of terrorists on September 11, 2001, and comfort their families.
May God preserve our honor, our liberty and our security, and enable us never to flinch in the face of evil.
May God grant us wise leaders, who will be generous to our friends, stern with our enemies, and implacable in the tracking down of those who would murder our people.

Amen Paco. Nice words. Tonight I have watched a reenactment of one of the hijacked flights. The one that was dumped in a field.
I get so angry when I think of that loss of innocent life and the anti everything campaigners who come to life after such events and support these minorities who pose such harm, before, now and in the future. Mehaul
Ditto what Mehaul said. I don't watch those shows. I just participated in a moment of silence with WMAL in DC & that, with Paco's prayer here, will have to be enough for today.
Have you gone to visit Ground Zero? Or the Pentagon? How can anyone doubt the men who did this were evil?

The city where I live put up American flags on the streets this morning, as is always done for the Fourth of July or parades.

KC, I have stopped watching them too. I don't need to because I can still do re-runs of those videos in my head.
I can remember watching when JFK was killed and watching the first moon landing, but I can't remember what I was doing at the times of those events.
The extreme horrors of the September 11 atrocities were different.
A friend woke us in the middle of the night to watch it happening on the TV. We stood in our 'jamas, disbelieving at first but then realising that the world had changed forever.
We will carry those images to our graves.
Skeeter: I had taken the day off and was in a used bookstore and noticed that the employees had gathered around the television; one woman was softly crying. When I got home I turned on my TV and saw the replays of the whole sickening thing taking place in New York; then there was a special report interrupting the special report: a plane had crashed into the Pentagon, and there were indications that a plane had crashed in Pennsylvania. A horrible and infuriating day. My anger didn't really start to come off the boil until we invaded Afghanistan.

It was late evening for us, but events began to unfold just as late night news bulletins were going to airt...it was not long after they started live streaming CNN on local TV...it was surreal
The next morning, the whole city was palpably subdued. We felt it even on the other side of the globe.
