Happy Feet Friday

Steve: I started playing clarinet when I was in 8th grade, and continued into high school, too. I would have killed to be able to hit the kind of high notes Artie Shaw attained.

Having started playing clarinet in high school, I was early on a fan of Artie Shaw and Benny Goodman (though I was never very good at the instrument).
What I didn't know until recently was that Shaw spent the last years of his life in the town where I went to high school.
Small world.
