Hope Dashed, Change Halted

A superb video of the aftermath of the inaugural ceremonies; what exquisite symbolism of the disparity between the hype and the reality (it's entitled, "Post-Barackalyptic Wasteland").

(Via Ace of Spades)

Today's Biblical Update Mat 24:24 - "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."

Also From Ace: Jake Tapper of ABC News says "Obama is the first President since Washington to step down into the presidency." What the hell does that mean? That he looks on the presidency as a place to goof off until he earns a pension? The MSM is, hilariously and unwittingly, setting Obama up for a tremendous fall. The new president doesn't even have to do all that badly to fall disappointingly short of the unprecedented hype.

Correction: Tapper denies he said it.

Senor Paco, you have made my day (in a rather horrible fashion) by posting this video.

Picking up the rubbish is obviously seen as "somebody else's problem" by this crowd.

How do you change the way these people behave? Is there any hope for them?

When that crap blows over into Ohio, I'm going to be ticked.

They couldn't carry out what they carried in?

Well, that certainly increased the size of Obama's carbon footprint! Which is already huge, and that boggles the mind.

Important folk, those privileged few who attend the Assumption? Much too important & elite to stoop to throwing away their own garbage.

O-man talked rubbish and the result was left on the ground.

I think this trash is just the beginning of the Big O's campaign promise to create 2 mil new jobs.

Pay someone to pick it up.

Pay someone to haul it off.

Pay someone to sort it for recycling.

Pay someone to trumpet the effects on the economy.

That's four new jobs, just due to the coronation!

Yes, we can!
But no, ... er, we don't do trash can.

When I first saw that pic on the moronblog, I thought it was downtown Baghdad.
As an aside, the tales of woe from The Purple Tunnel seemed to lack the "Yes we can" spirit espoused by the new president.

rinardman,
- probably hire a few people to raise awareness about litter.
- a litter czar
- a few community organizers to organize the community to protest that the government needs to do something about the litter.
- fund sociology studies to explain that litterers are victims of... something (probably capitalism).
- outlaw litter and and add it to the responsibilities of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, Explosives and Litter and hire hundreds or thousands of people to classify and regulate objects as Litter, non-Litter, and Trash. Without objects that become litter there would be no litterers therefore objects that could become litter need to be regulated if not banned.

What is wrong with some people? I was raised not to litter. Ever (with an exception for gum and apple cores) They carried it in and then most consciously tossed it or "accidently" left it lying somewhere to blow away. It isn't hard to fold it up and stick it in your pocket or coat. Sure, someone might comment about you cramming trash in your pocket or mock the bulge it makes but you can proudly point out that you're not some littering barbarian. They're probably the type who says "someone else'll pick it up", "everyone else does it" or "Hey, a streetsweeper will be along eventually" neverminding that some of that crap will get blown into someone's tree.
Bastards.

It was their party. They are the new elite. Let's not worry about maintaining standards. Those losers from the Republicans can clean up after me. Mehaul.
