Despite the threat of a wrist-slap from Bella Botox, Joe Wilson says he isn't about to apologize on the House floor.
Good for him. And a pox on any Republicans who decide to play I'm-too-holy-for-my-halo, and join with Democrats in continuing to make an issue of the incident.
Update: Republicans should be looking for good candidates for 2010. Marco Rubio strikes me as a future star - if he can get the support he needs.
Update II: Richard McEnroe is doing his best to get the word out on viable conservative candidates. If readers are aware of people in their districts (or states, as the case may be) who need some help, let me know and I'll give them some exposure.

I agree. And I'd like to note that any apology under these circumstances should focus on the location, not the subject.
Speaking of which, the White House has tacitly agreed that Joe Wilson was correct in calling Obama a liar.

Re: Wilson, he spoke the truth and has nothing to apologize to far. We would all be a whole lot better off if our politicians would say what they are thinking more often.

Sorry, Paco, you already got mine - Marco Rubio. Governors used to be a decent bunch...any of them worth the paper they're printed on? I only ask because the gov'nor of Florida is NOT worth the paper he's printed on, in my SELDOM humble opinion.

No, RebeccaH, that's the whole point. No matter what state you or I or any of us are in we need to work together to gets out as much info about the good guys regardless of where they are. Olympia Snowe is a Republican in Washington state but she votes like she has a (D) after her name more often than not. If someone knows of a better candidate in Washington we should support them even if it is only by word of mouth.
Snowe is from Maine not Washington. I'd like to help you out but I couldn't even vote for the Republican that opposed Raul Grijalva in my district. I had to vote Libertarian for the first time in my life.
Thank you Yojimbo, you are right about "Maine." However, you don't have to vote Libertarian any more than I have to vote Republican. We all need to vote for the best candidate regardless of party.
There were no best candidates running. Grijalva is a hardcore socialist that is quite possibly to the left of Obama. The Republican was a joke so I voted Libertarian as a protest.
I'm a conservative who votes Republican because they are the closest to my value system-Libertarians are not. I am not wetted to the Republican Party. I'll vote for the candidate from the Baja Marimba Party if they reflect my values and, as it stands,they appear to be just about as close as the others right now.
