Truth to tell, if the President is listening to Biden on Afghanistan, the VP may have ceased to be a funny joke, but he's still a joke (of the extremely bad, "practical" variety).
As to the Newsweek cover, this is just the zillionth example of the mainstream media shouldering an Obama placard in the permanent campaign.

Is this thing still out there in dead-tree format? Good God! I remember it was 1990 or so when I was sitting on a bus reading Newsweek and suddenly thought to myself "this drivel is at about an eighth grade level--or lower." Time mag, the same. Never read them since. Just "die and get out of the way," eh?
I'm with you. If I'm waiting in the doctor's office for my appointment, I'll read Proctology Today before I'll pick up Newsweek.
