England in decline - Part XLII

Hundreds of thousands of "youths" rioted in London in a protest against government spending cuts - and to enjoy the adrenaline rush one gets when one throws white paint on police officers.

"Cor, I wish this was Chicago, 1968."

Correction: There were hundreds of thousands of protesters, but they weren't all rioting; looks like the violence was due largely to the efforts of our old friends, the anarchists (self-styled, anarchists, that is; apparently they want to preserve a critical mass of government in order to fleece the taxpayers on their behalf).

Sheesh, they'd shoot your ass dead for that in our county.

No Paco, I don't see that. He's a Brit.

"Throw your paint, it means nothing as long as guns and bombs aren't used."

It's different over there.

Their time is coming. The cuts will happen, because there is no more money. Lots of parasites will suddenly find themselves in circumstances even more reduced than the smelly nests they currently inhabit. Even daddy's trust fund isn't limitless.

Anon, that's exactly Paco's point. The police shot back during the 1968 Chicago riots.

Anon: I'm thinking that, surely, even the most PC-brainwashed bobby must, every now and again, get an urge to lay into that lot with a truncheon.

Re: update

I can just feel the irony, clear over here in the western United States, of anarchists rioting along side pro-big government supporters.

I'm sure that the anarchists see it differently. But that would be denial, and I don't mean a river in Egypt.

Anarchists are all safely tucked away in nonprofits who rely on those big government grants. Otherwise, they'd have to go out and really, you know, anarchist it, which even they know isn't too muy bueno good.
