The government picks another winner

"Solyndra to Declare Bankruptcy".
Solyndra was touted by the Obama administration as a prime example of how green technology could deliver jobs. The President visited the facility in May of last year and said "it is just a testament to American ingenuity and dynamism and the fact that we continue to have the best universities in the world, the best technology in the world, and most importantly the best workers in the world. And you guys all represent that. "

The federal government offered $535 million in low cost loan guarantees from the Department of Energy. NBC Bay Area has contacted the White House asking for a statement.
Yeah, well, here's some advice NBC Bay Area: don't hold your breath.

Five hundred and thirty five million dollars. Criminal. Or insane. Or maybe both.

Update: Steve Burri sees a pattern.

Political leaders who remind us more and more of Marie Antionette, or her reputation as aloof from and useless to ordinary people.

Not a good style for someone seeking reelection.

But accepting 'Green' nonsense has insulated much of the world's leadership from the reality of checking that their endorsements won't make them look ridiculous.

"I was told by a security guard to get my [stuff] and leave," one employee said.

Hmmmm, the White House, 2012 - hope and change.
