Are you better off than you were four years ago?

And, yes, that's a rhetorical question.

Elsewhere: Democratic lawlessness.

In my long years as Army wife, corporate cog, and university drudge, I have known a great many immigrants, and always admired their courage, self-discipline, and their enthusiasm for life in America.

But the illegal alien issue makes me angry, and it doesn't matter where they're from. After all, I'd like to know why there are so many Eastern European and Russian waitresses in places like Myrtle Beach, and coastal Florida. They all say they came on student visas, but I'm thinking they don't go home when that's run out, and it's not a work visa anyway. Illegal is illegal, not deserving of the same rights and benefits accorded to citizens, or even legal green card holders.

Am I being hard-hearted? I suppose so. I'm a RWDB, after all. But there has to be a line drawn somewhere, or we might as well let everybody in the world in with no conditions, and take our chances that we'll still have a First World economy, and a society that lives by the rule of law.

*slides soapbox back under the desk*

Oh, yeah, the question.

NO! Mr. H and I are NOT better off than four years ago!

Since Oct of 2009 I have lost two jobs because of "reduction in workforce due to the economy" and am still out of a job since the beginning of the year. My savings is dwindling despite my cutbacks and my pension won't carry me through the rest of my life. I will die before my house is payed off. There is no hope and change for me. Forward is bleak.
However I am still optimistic come November.

I am better off than I will be four years from now, if Obama and the Dems are reelected.

Politic+s in Canada
====================

In case no-one noticed, Canada ended diplomatic relations with Iran; Stephen Harper announced this at the APEC conference in Russia.

Pierre Trudeau's sperm, his son, is running for the position of leader of the Liberal Party of Canada. He will likely win because all those 1960's hyppies will, in their old age, vote for the young and handsome Trudeau.

Since when was Prime Minister an hereditary position.?

There are moves afoot to overthrow the Ontario Provincial "Progressive" Conservative leader Hudak because of his lack-luster performance in the past few elections ... to the point that he has become known as "Whodat?"

It shouldn't be a shock that an illegal alien spoke. It fits perfectly with the lying/serial adulterer/impeached former president, a tribute to a murderer, the hokey-pokey platform, to name a few. All they missed was having one of the cemetary Democrats do a "Weekend At Bernie's" appearance. Ace in the hole?
