The Afghanis aren't being fragile, they're responding positively to actions. Until the US Army develops a more robust and properly military response, these killings will continue.
It's pretty obvious that 'outrage' about 'insults' to the ROP is very selective. More or less strategic, and targeted to where it gets best response. This worries me as much as anything.
If I were President of the World, I'd put a nuclear umbrella over Israel, ramp up our domestic energy production to 100%, close all the embassies in the Arab countries, and stop all immigration from, and foreign aid to, them. Inside of a year, after they got tired of killing each other, they'd be kissing our hands, begging us to come back.

Time to institute an old Roman penalty - Decimation.
One of your "troops" shoots down Americans, we make YOU kill every 10th man in the unit. Or we kill you all.

And, yes, I know Afghanistan is not an Arab country, so let's include them and Pakistan as well. And probably North Africa.
