More gun explosive vest violence

Terrorists attack Istanbul airport, up to 50 people dead.

Thomas Pickering, rope salesman

Lenin famously responded to one of his fellows, who inquired as to where the Bolsheviks would get sufficient rope to hang the bourgeoisie, "we'll buy it from the last capitalist".

Thomas Pickering - former diplomat and one of Obama's army of grave diggers - has been particularly industrious in peddling hemp: "KEY BACKER OF IRAN DEAL WAS ON BOEING’S PAYROLL BUT DIDN’T DISCLOSE IT".
Earlier this month, an Iranian official stated that his country had reached a deal to buy planes from Boeing — the first deal of its kind between Iran and a U.S. company since sanctions were lifted pursuant to the Iran nuclear deal. The deal reportedly will be worth $25 billion to Boeing.

Not long thereafter, Betsy Woodruff of the Daily Beast reported that Thomas Pickering, a prominent diplomat and a former ambassador to Israel and the United Nations, took money from Boeing while vocally and influentially supporting the Iran nuclear deal. Pickering supported the deal in testimony before Congress, letters to high-level officials, and op-eds for outlets like the Washington Post and the New York Times.
Of course, Pickering is a mere suckling pig compared to the hoggish Boeing, which is perfectly willing to sell aircraft to a regime which is the most notorious sponsor of terrorism in the world.

Note - the linked post also points out another interesting fact:
[R]eaders may recall that Pickering chaired the Accountability Review Board (ARB) convened by Hillary Clinton to clear her of any wrongdoing in connection with the Benghazi attacks.
I'd say that the report's conclusions have now been thoroughly undermined.

"I can give you 25 billion reasons why the Iran nuclear deal is a good thing".

Rant

Looks like somebody got hold of my landline telephone number and is using it in a spoofing scam. We've received literally hundreds of calls from people all over the country - just today - wanting to know why the hell we keep calling them. Apparently, whoever is using our number to falsify their caller ID is simply calling and hanging up.

Our telephone company has referred the matter to the FCC (maybe that agency's military wing can locate the malefactor and swoop down on him - or her, as the case may be).

Five more people who would probably still be alive if it wasn't for government's criminal negligence in ignoring immigration laws

"A homeless man charged with setting a fire that killed five people at a vacant Los Angeles building was in the country illegally, and was arrested for drug possession days before the blaze.Johnny Sanchez, 21, remains jailed without bail on five counts of murder. Prosecutors haven’t decided whether to seek the death penalty."

Here's where it really gets infuriating: "Sanchez, a Honduran citizen, was arrested in 2012 for illegally entering California, but he was released a week later after agents determined he had no criminal history or previous immigration violations..."

Well, he's got the criminal history, now. Everybody happy?

I'd insist on this guy handing in his Man Card...

...but if he's got one at all, it's probably forged: NY Daily News reporter traumatized by firing AR-15 on range:
The recoil bruised my shoulder. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary case of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.
Maybe some wag on the range handed him a .50 caliber Barrett rifle and told him it was an AR-15. It's difficult to imagine anybody experiencing this much angst from shooting the lowly .223.

Terrorism strikes the homeland, once again

Muslim assassin, Omar Mateen, slaughters upwards of 50 people in a gay bar in Orlando.

Update: Since this massacre is already being used by leftists to bolster their campaign for gun control, permit me to point out that Mateen appears to be a garden variety Muslim terrorist who was also carrying explosive devices that didn't detonate; can you get those legally? And he's a registered Democrat - which is not intended, by me, to be a reflection on the Democratic party; however, you know if Mateen had been wearing a cap with the slogan "Make America Great Again", the media and their political masters would now be condemning every Trump supporter in the country as a terrorist enabler (and, naturally, every Republican, even if avowedly anti-Trump). So, just to keep the record straight.

BTW, is the Pulse Club a gun-free zone? I honestly don't know, but mass shooters, like tornadoes to trailer parks, seem to be drawn to gun-free locations - for some strange reason that I just can't figure out

Let's rewrite some history

I think many historical and literary speeches, and even inspirational poetry, could be substantially improved through the application of the president's eloquence, as exhibited in the earlier post. Bearing in mind that Mr. Obama's non-standard use of the expression "okie-doke" makes it a a verbal wild card, let's give it a whirl:

And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves not okie-doke they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day. (You're welcome, William Shakespeare)

* * * * * * * * * * * *

If-if-if-if-if-if-if you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son! (You're welcome, Rudyard Kipling)

* * * * * * * * * * *

I believe that I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost but will make it very certain that this form of okie-doke shall never again endanger us. (You're welcome, President Roosevelt)

* * * * * * * * * * *

The singular interpositions of Providence in our feeble condition were such, as could scarcely escape the attention of the most unobserving; while the unparalleled perseverance of the Armies of the United States, through almost every possible suffering and discouragement for the space of eight long years, was little short of okie-doke. (You're welcome, George Washington).

Apocryphal, but correct

I don't know that there's evidence Thomas Jefferson ever really said this, but it's right on the money: "Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not."

Now that right there's some real eloquence

Trump is, as they say, living in Obama's head, rent-free.
