Things really are looking up with Trump

Not only is the stock market booming, but Cuban leader dictator Fidel Castro has died.

Gonna be one hell of a party in Miami tonight.

Update: Some initial reactions collected by Glenn Reynolds.

Update II: Donald Trump's statement (how sweet it is!)
"Today, the world marks the passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades. Fidel Castro’s legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and the denial of fundamental human rights.

"While Cuba remains a totalitarian island, it is my hope that today marks a move away from the horrors endured for too long, and toward a future in which the wonderful Cuban people finally live in the freedom they so richly deserve.

"Though the tragedies, deaths and pain caused by Fidel Castro cannot be erased, our administration will do all it can to ensure the Cuban people can finally begin their journey toward prosperity and liberty. I join the many Cuban Americans who supported me so greatly in the presidential campaign, including the Brigade 2506 Veterans Association that endorsed me, with the hope of one day soon seeing a free Cuba."
Update III: Compare and contrast: when General Pinochet died, he was described as a "former dictator", practically everywhere. Castro is the "former Cuban leader". The biases of the mainstream press are truly irredeemable.

Fidel is probably staging a coup in Hell as we speak.

The Jill Stein recount thing is worrying me.
While Stein gets things organized, dear, sweet Hillary is being photographed doing homey things like visiting a book store and buying a Thanksgiving turkey.
The whole thing stinks.

Soros has a three day meeting with all the Democrat bigwigs and a few days later, this.
Is there any chance they can manufacture enough votes to give Clinton the presidency?
I hope Trump has some experts monitoring this recount.

Things could get messy if the Demonrats pull this off.

Fewer than 4000 died under Pinochet, lefties trying to turn Chile into another Worker's Paradise like Cuba. Castro's number of victims is greater than 100,000 at least, plus hundreds of thousands fleeing into exile. And Pinochet resigned peacefully after losing an election, leaving Chile prosperous and ready for a renewed democratic government.

One interesting thing: I believe there were Cuban troops in Chile in 1973 supporting Allende, but the coup was too quick for them to react. The reasons I think so are:

At the time of the coup I read in newspapers that there were 10,000 "armed Latin American leftists" in Chile to support Allende's government.

In the mid-1980s, several Cuban officers helping the Sandinistas in Nicaragua were put on trial for drug smuggling. During his show trial (I believe the verdicts were set before the trials began), a Colonel Ochoa tried to evade his inevitable death sentence by listing his "internationalist services." One of them was that he commanded the troops in Chile at the time Salvadore Allende was overthrown. My memory rushed back to those "armed Latin American leftists." It appears that they were actually Cuban soldiers, whatever their countries of origin.

Pinochet was the savior of his country, as Castro was the destroyer of his.

Mrs. Paco's family fled Chile. I am always delighted to tell people, who generally assume that they escaped the Pinochet regime that, no, it was the Allende government they fled; the whole family had been placed on an assassination list drawn up by the MIR, the left-most wing of Allende's left-wing Popular Unity Coalition.

Paco,
That's one of the things you don't generally learn about Allende's attempt at socialist revolution, but it's consistent with the actions of socialist revolutionaries everywhere else they get power. Glad they got out while the getting was good.

They don't write songs like they used to.

Here for example is 'Stalin Kicked The Bucket' by Ray Anderson [1953] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvMEkBH34CE [See http://www.atomicplatters.com/more.php?id=66_0_1_0_M]

And

Joe Stalin's Dead (Good Riddance) by Buddy Hawk and his Buddies [1953] (See http://www.atomicplatters.com/more.php?id=114_0_1_0_M7)
